This is an itinerary that covers a particularly picturesque stretch of the Ligurian coast, allowing you to discover some typical Ligurian villages.
Due to its length and elevation changes, this trail is recommended for those who have a good training background.

The starting point is Moneglia, and the arrival point is Bonassola, making the train the best means of transportation.
Upon exiting the Moneglia train station, head towards the sea, then turn left and cross the historic center, where you’ll find shops of all kinds and cafes, to reach the area known as Posato. Here, after crossing the bridge over the Bisagno Stream, the trail marked with Square and the symbol of Sentiero Liguria begins.

This is a concrete staircase that starts alongside the railway and then climbs up to "Via per Lemeglio", which you follow uphill to the right until you reach the first houses of the village with the same name.

Here, in front of a restaurant, the trail marker directs you to a shortcut: a steep staircase leading to the heart of Lemeglio, a village of well-kept, colorful houses overlooking the sea and the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, with its typical Ligurian striped gray and white façade.
In the village, there are two drinking water fountains.

Past the parish church, continue climbing to a spot that offers a spectacular view of Moneglia and the Tigullio Gulf, the first in a long series of panoramic views.
After a short flat stretch, the trail begins to climb through a lovely holm oak forest, reaching a trail junction at San Pantaleo (325 m), where, as clearly indicated, you turn right towards Deiva Marina.

The descent, sometimes steep on uneven terrain, passes through a forest and continues on Via della Libertà, a long dirt road that eventually becomes paved, leading to the center of Deiva Marina, a renowned seaside city famous for its beautiful beach, equipped with all kinds of services and shops.

After crossing the town center, head towards the Deiva Marina stream and follow it towards the sea until its mouth, where you’ll encounter Via Fornaci. Follow this road to cross to the other side of the stream and climb a few meters to the fork; here, keep right to quickly find the trail to Framura.

The path enters a holm oak forest, climbing steeply and proceeding over rocky terrain where you’ll pass through arbustus trees that bear fruit in autumn and winter. Along the climb, it’s worth stopping to admire the views of Deiva Marina.

About an hour after leaving "Deiva", you’ll reach Case Serro (300 m), where you keep right to follow Via Monte Serro, a wide dirt road that continues on level ground.
Upon reaching an open area with tables and benches, it’s recommended to take a brief detour to the right, descending to Punta Apicchi along a scenic path that, in some spots, seems to plunge into the sea.

At the panoramic point of Punta Apicchi, the view is breathtaking, offering a panoramic view of the entire coastline.

Return to the main path to continue along the long dirt road, still following the marker Sentiero Liguria leading to Foce del Prato.
At the fork, keep right, and after a few meters, follow a small path to the left that descends into the forest and then continues through the countryside, always accompanied by sea views, until reaching the first houses and then the paved road.

Cross the road to enter in Satta, one of the five hamlets that compose the municipality of Framura. You are now in the province of La Spezia.
This is a welcoming medieval village perched on the hills, home to the Town Hall, a post office, a bar, and a shop, popular with tourists in summer. There is also a drinking water fountain here.

The "Sentiero Liguria" marker Sentiero Liguria now leads through two other equally charming hamlets of Framura, first Ravecca and then Anzo, featuring the small Church of Nostra Signora delle Nevi and a tower built by the Republic of Genoa, now privately owned.

After crossing a small bridge, you’ll find yourself on a paved road. Turn right and descend to a curve where the trail marker directs you onto Via Luigi Duina, a paved road with stunning sea views, which climbs to the beginning of the trail to Bonassola.

The trail begins uphill, with some particularly steep sections, alternating flat stretches and gentle descents, always surrounded by postcard-worthy scenery.
Along the way, a panoramic point is indicated that’s worth visiting, though caution is advised as the platform has some holes.

Continuing uphill, you reach a small settlement where you follow the concrete road that climbs and then turns right, crossing a rural area before briefly climbing back into the forest and descending onto Via Carpeneggio, a dirt road leading to a fork.

Both directions lead to Bonassola, but our itinerary continues on the right-hand path, which includes a stop at Salto delle Lepre, a panoramic point reached after one final climb and a descent.
The view from this terrace, where the remains of two World War II bunkers are still visible, is breathtaking and a sought-after spot to watch the sunset.

Return briefly on the same path to continue to the right along the trail that gradually descends, reaching a dirt road, Via Berroni, which you follow to its end, entering the center of Bonassola, the last village on our itinerary.

The village, which belongs to the province of La Spezia, is renowned for its beach and historic center, offering all kinds of shops and services.

The best way to get back to Moneglia is by train.
