Portofino Vetta
Isolated hamlet on the Portofino Promontory at 420 metres elevation
Portofino Vetta is a small hamlet of Camogli overlooking the Gulf of Paradise from the heart of the promontory. It serves as a natural starting point for the park's trails and is accessible by car or on foot from Ruta.
Portofino Vetta is a tiny hamlet of Camogli in the heart of the Portofino Promontory, the main gateway to the Park and all its trails.
The locality, situated at an altitude of 420 metres, is dominated by a large Art Nouveau building, home to the Kulm Hotel, and enjoys a strategic position for admiring the entire Ligurian coast and, on the clearest days, the Apuan Alps.
Portofino Vetta is accessible by car via "Bernardo Gaggini" road, which runs alongside the Ruta tunnel and climbs for about 2 km through the woods; after passing a small stone chapel on the roadside, there is a free parking area on the right.
On foot, start from Ruta by taking the staircase near the tunnel, which leads up to the Church of San Michele Arcangelo, then continue on the well-marked trail that climbs to the antenna station.
