Sestri Levante, which takes its name from the Latin Segesta Tiguliorum, is the easternmost and largest municipality of Tigullio, the portion of Ligurian territory bordered to the west by the Portofino Promontory. A particular morphological conformation characterizes this coastal village making it unique, the mainland is in fact connected to the ancient rocky promontory through an isthmus that creates two magnificent bays, the Baia del Silenzio and the Baia delle favole.
The first one, small and intimate, surrounded by pastel-colored houses, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy, the second one, named Baia delle Favole by the popular TV presenter Enzo Tortora, has larger dimensions and hosts numerous bathing establishments.
A few steps from the sea there is a lively historic center, lively in the summer until late at night, where, alongside renowned restaurants, ice cream parlors, boutiques, typical shops and services of all kinds, you can admire historic buildings and churches built between the sixteenth and the seventeenth century.
To all of this is added an interesting path network that can be covered all year round by foot or by bicycle, which allows you to create different itineraries in terms of length and difficulty, overlooking the sea or discovering the hilly area, but always included in a exceptional landscape context.
