The route starts in front of the entrance to the port of Santa Margherita Ligure (behind the petrol station) uphill to Montebello, a carriage road that winds between the houses for about 300 meters and then turns into a mule track; a journey of about 20 minutes, which after a last stretch in the middle of cultivated terraces, ends at the chapel of the Madonna della Neve in Nozarego .
Here you walk along the road for about 100 meters until you meet, on the left, the cobbled path that climbs between villas with gardens and dry stone walls, joining after a while, the road coming from the church of Nozarego to continue on the plain view of the Gulf and the "Abbey of Cervara".
You arrive in Gave where there is the Cappelletta delle Gave , which owes its name to the presence of this small church, the crossroads of some paths; a very steep descent (at the beginning there is a tap for drinking water) of pebbles descends between cultivated land and then continues with a staircase between high stone walls which after about 20 minutes, arrives in the Paraggi car park. On this path you will find the detour to the Abbey of Cervara (in the locality of San Gioacchino), reachable in 15 minutes on foot in the woods.
At the end of the small town of Paraggi, a stairway leads to the Paraggi-Portofino pedestrian path, now called "Walk of kisses", a very well-kept path that runs parallel to the driveway completely surrounded by greenery. After a few ups and downs, the journey basically continues on the plain, passing some villas; as you get closer, the view of the town becomes more and more exciting.
The route ends at the parish church of San Martino, a church with yellow and gray stripes at the entrance to Portofino .
