StartStarting point

This trail begins in front of the entrance to the tourist port of Santa Margherita Ligure (just behind the petrol station) in Salita Montebello, a carriage road that winds between the houses for about 300 meters and then turns into mule track; a journey of about 20 minutes, which after a last stretch in the middle of the bands, ends at the chapel of the Madonna della Neve in Nozarego.

Here you have to go along the road for 100 meters until you meet the cobbled path  which climbs to the right between villas with gardens and dry stone walls, joining, after a while, with the path coming from the church of Nozarego continuing on the plain with a view of the Gulf and the Cervara Abbey.

You will thus arrive at Cappelletta delle Gave, which owes its name to the presence of a small church, a crossroads of numerous paths; a very steep descent (at the beginning there is a drinking water tap) descends between bands and reeds and then with a stairway between high walls which after 20 minutes comes out in the Paraggi car park.

At the end of the small built-up area, a flight of steps leads to the Paraggi-Portofino pedestrian area, today called "Via dei Baci", a very well maintained path which runs parallel above the driveway completely surrounded by greenery. After a few ups and downs, the route continues substantially on the plain, passing some villas; as you get closer, the view of the village becomes more and more exciting.

The itinerary ends at the parish church of San Martino, the yellow and gray striped church at the entrance of Portofino.
