The departure is in Via Costasecca just behind the town hall. After about 300 meters you leave the paved driveway to continue on the path that runs along strips and private properties and is marked by two rhombuses ().
After passing a first detour to Nozarego (which you meet after about 20 minutes of walking) and after another 10 minutes on a path that alternates stretches of driveway with stretches of gravel, you will find a second one. From here on the path becomes quite steep with often high and irregular steps, until you reach the locality "Costa aria" crossing a short detour that leads to the "Croce di San Siro" (2 minutes), an old cross from 1937.
The route continues uphill, crossing after a few meters the detour to Monte Pollone and after another 15 minutes the detour to Dolcina Alta and San Lorenzo della Costa.
The last stretch of the ascent is very steep but equally exciting and ends on the Pietre Strette - Portofino path. Turning right, after about 10 minutes of flat walking you will arrive in Pietre Strette (about 1 hour and 10 minutes from the start).
The path is 95% of its development in the shade of Holm oaks, Chestnuts and Oaks.
In order not to return to the same path, we recommend taking the Pietre strette - Portofino path () and once you reach Bocche, after about 15 minutes of walk, turn left towards Monte Pollone. After another 5 minutes walk, go down to the left towards Croce di S. Siro.
A fairly steep and not well-maintained path (it almost seems to be a dry stream) will bring you back, after 20 minutes, to Costa d'Aria at the intersection with the path you traveled previously. From here you go down the previous route until you return to the starting point, in Via Costasecca.
