Easy walk in the Portofino Park starting from Portofino Vetta, easily reachable by car from Ruta di Camogli following Via Gaggino, and ending in San Rocco di Camogli.
After parking in the designated area, continue along the uphill road past Hotel Kulm to reach, on the right, the entrance to the Park trails.
A short staircase leads down to the path connecting Ruta to Portofino Mare, which should be followed to the right: a wide shaded trail that, after a short descent, continues almost flat until reaching the locality of
Gaixella, a resting area equipped with benches, wooden tables and drinking water.
The main trail is then left behind to follow the waymark
which turns right onto a path descending through a shaded chestnut forest.
Alternating between downhill sections and gentler stretches, the route crosses a cool and humid area, particularly pleasant during hot summer days, before reaching a small clearing equipped with an altar and a few benches: this is the final station of the Via Crucis that begins in San Rocco di Camogli.
The ancient mule track leaves the woods and continues through a more rural landscape, among olive groves and cultivated terraces, passing the first houses along the way; in this section it is possible to notice the characteristic hand-painted tiles illustrating the stages of the Via Crucis.
As the trail descends, the panorama gradually opens in all its beauty, culminating in the locality of Galletti, a charming cluster of colorful houses overlooking the sea.
An extraordinary view stretching from Punta Chiappa to Capo Mele accompanies the final section of the itinerary, which ends behind the Church of San Rocco di Camogli.
In the small hamlet of Camogli it is possible to find: the well-stocked Maccarini bakery, a bar, a restaurant, drinking water and public toilets.
San Rocco is connected to Ruta di Camogli by a local bus service.
From here it is possible to continue towards several destinations: San Fruttuoso di Camogli, Punta Chiappa, Camogli, Ruta di Camogli.
