What we propose here is not a trekking route, but a lovely walk that connects Rapallo to Santa Margherita Ligure, avoiding the traffic along the coast road.

The starting point is on Corso Colombo, near the Ponte Annibale (Annibale Bridge). Here, take the small path next to the bridge, passing between the buildings and ascending to Via Aurelia di Ponente. Without difficulty, you'll find via San Nicola immediately on your left. This pedestrian path winds between the walls of beautiful villas, offering occasional panoramic views of the bay of San Michele di Pagana. Ignore all the side paths you encounter (those to the left all lead down to the beach) and continue straight until you reach a drivable road in San Michele di Pagana.

Here, take Via degli Aranci, the staircase on your left that descends and runs alongside the railway. Crossing Via Meucci, which you should follow for a short distance to the right, you will then continue onto Via Fioria towards the sea. Just before passing under the railway bridge, on the right, you'll find via Donega.

The narrow path, also known further along as Via Banchi, starts at the beginning of Via Donega, to the left, between the staircase of a condominium and a private road that climbs towards some residences.

The mule track, as you will see further ahead, is called Via Banchi. It ascends between two high walls and reaches a first junction, where you should turn right to encounter P.so dell' Alloro. Here, continue to the left, passing by some houses, until you reach a staircase that offers a broad view of Santa Margherita Ligure.

Descend along the stone steps which, after passing over the railway station, will lead you to Santa Margherita Ligure on via Roma, at the intersection with via Pagana.
