Passing through

Park your car in the square that you meet on the right, just after the stone church of Portofino Vetta (420 mt. Above sea level), you can choose whether to forward into the park via the entrance opposite the car park or continue on for about 300 meters carriage road up to the second access to the trails behind the luxury hotel.

The two entrances come together on the same path that moves almost entirely in the plain, passing under the TV antennas and touching places Gaixella (412mt. asl), a small area, a crossroads of many paths (Semaforo nuovo, Semaforo Vecchio, San Rocco), equipped with benches, wooden tables and a drinking water faucet.

The journey continues maintaining the wide shaded path, which quickly and easily, comes to Pietre Strette (464 mt. Above sea level), the center of Portofino. It indicates a tap for drinking water, one of the few around the journey.

Here you go straight for a few meters up to the first turning on the right, indicating places Base 0.

The trail, which follows the ridge of Mount and has many scenic spots, advancing on a slight slope up to Felciara places (436mt asl), a clearing amid the ferns equipped for rest.

In short time you meet the place Ghidelli (393mt asl), which also includes a link to the path that leads to Portofino sea, and Costa dei Ghidelli, from where a small connection to the road that leads from San Fruttuoso from Pietre Strette .

The way forward now and get down to localities Base 0 (220mt asl), with trunks of trees where it was made an original point of rest in the shade; after admiring San Fruttuoso (which reaches down to the right) from the top, turn left to continue on the panoramic route that alternates brief flat stretches down through a number of protruding rocks.

The path (very sunny in summer) is completely overlooking the sea with incredible views of the bays below.

Once a small nucleus of houses you get into a short but steep downhill road that ends in the middle of chestnut trees, is now continuing with a narrow footpath that passes over flat Cala des Anglais (reached by a path a little difficult) and arrives in places Cappelletta, named for the presence of a small chapel.

Passed a gate, which prevents the passage of wild animals, the trail is all downhill, and after a second gate in Palara places turns into a wide, steep staircase that leads to Fondaco away, and then in the car park of Portofino.

After a mandatory visit to the famous village, the path resumes at the church of San Martino, with pedestrian Portofino - Paraggi, a nice walk in the park that offers the same panoramic views of the underlying road.

Once in Paraggi go down to the parking lot where the so-called "Way of the Mills", a trail that climbs through a shady valley, passing near the remains of some old mills (all accompanied by descriptive panels) flowing under the Mulino del Gassetta, small museum and refreshment center.

Turning left, a plain path, in places Olmi (250 mt. Above sea level), you will enter on the main route linking Portofino Mare to Portofino Vetta, the path on the right, wide and well kept rooms straight chestnut trees, pines, oaks, passing through places Crocetta (363 mt. asl), where you can sit on some benches shaded, and places Bocche (454mt. asl), another stopping point also has tables and tap water.

In 15 minutes from here you will find yourself back in places Pietre Strette and therefore, following the route of the outward, the tour ends in the car park of Portofino Vetta.
