Starting point |
After entering the park, behind the hotel, continue for about 200 meters until you reach the Gaixella area. Here, beyond the first turnoff on the right leading to San Rocco di Camogli, you'll find a well-marked trail that leads to the Old Semaforo location.
The route, which takes about 35 minutes to reach the summit, consists of an ascent that traverses a forest characterized by prominent rocky outcrops of unmistakable puddingstone.
The Old Semaforo, currently renovated and transformed into a shelter, stands on a beautiful meadow surrounded by large trees that offer some shelter on sunny summer days. The shaded area also provides wooden benches, tables, and a non-potable water tap for refreshment, as well as a room equipped with a brazier.
Behind the Semaforo, there's access to a magnificent panoramic viewpoint, known as the Frank Sinatra Terrace, named so because the view embraces the Gulf of Paradiso, the Gulf of Tigullio, and the hinterland where the village of Lumarzo is situated, the homeland of the singer's mother.
From here, you can descend towards the Pietre Strette location or continue towards Toca and New Semaforo.
