This loop trail begins at the small church of Sant'Agostino. You can reach it on foot from Salita Sant'Agostino (behind the railway on Via Bolzano) or by scooter from Via Cerisola. Avoid using a car due to limited parking.
Start on the path to the right of the chapel, marked by a red crossed circle. It climbs between villas and cultivated terraces. Stay on this path even when it crosses a small paved road. After passing Madonna Nera, identified by a small white chapel in a private area on the right, the path turns into concrete steps, then an asphalt road. Leave the road after a few meters to follow a forest trail on the right.
At the first fork, keep right (going straight leads to Monte Pegge and Montallegro). Continue on the unmarked trail, which mixes flat sections with short descents, until you reach the semi-abandoned village of Gravero. Enjoy the stunning view of Rapallo from here.
The trail then descends, somewhat uneven due to wild boar activity, passing more ruins and a small stream. It leads to a dog cemetery and then to the road that goes to San Maurizio dei Monti.
Turn right on the provincial road and follow it for about 1.2 km. Look for "Strada antica dei monti" on the left. Be cautious: directly ahead on your right is a small ascending path (Via delle Cave) with views of condominiums on one side and terraced fields on the other. This path soon connects to Via Sant'Agostino. Turn right to return to your starting point.
