When users sign in or register with Google, PortofinoTrek processes only the data strictly necessary to authenticate the user and securely link the relevant account:

  • A unique identifier associated with the Google account, used exclusively for sign-in and secure account linking

No unnecessary additional data, such as profile pictures, is requested or stored, unless future service changes are expressly communicated by updating this Privacy Policy.

3. Purposes of Processing

  • creating and managing user accounts;
  • authentication and access to website services;
  • linking user accounts to Google sign-in, where used;
  • managing orders, purchases, and related administrative activities;

Where available, PortofinoTrek allows users to sign in and register using their Google account.

Data obtained from Google is used exclusively to:

  • authenticate the user;
  • create a new user account, where necessary;
  • link the Google account to an existing account compatible with the email address used;
  • provide faster and more secure access to the website.

Data obtained from Google is not used for advertising or commercial profiling purposes.

5. Use of the Email Address for Map Sharing

To allow access to maps and content distributed through Google services, the user’s email address is also used to automatically share maps via Google Drive.

The email address is therefore used exclusively for:

  • sign-in and authentication;
  • sharing the purchased map or content associated with the service;
  • communications strictly related to use of the website and purchased services.

Map sharing may take place automatically through tools based on Google Apps Script or equivalent tools connected to Google services.

6. Payments

Payments are handled through Viva Wallet, including card payments and PayPal where available within the relevant payment system.

PortofinoTrek does not collect or store full payment data and does not have direct access to complete financial information, which is processed by the relevant payment providers under their own privacy policies.

7. Analytics

The website uses Matomo for statistical and website usage analysis purposes.

This data is used to improve service operation, user experience, and the quality of the content and features provided.

  • Register S.p.A., as hosting provider;
  • Viva Wallet, as payment services provider;
  • PayPal, where used within the payment systems offered by the payment provider;
  • Gmail or other Google email tools, for managing service-related email communications.

14. Transfers of Data Outside the EEA

Some third-party services used by the website may involve the transfer of personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area.
