An itinerary from Camogli to San Fruttuoso that is less spectacular than the one that passes through the Batterie area but also less challenging and can be undertaken with children (if they are used to walking...).

In Camogli, start by taking Via S. Bartolomeo, the road at the end of the parking area that passes under the Carabinieri barracks and runs alongside the Gentile stream. When you reach the gate of a villa, continue to the left on the gravel path, which soon turns into a series of concrete steps (approximately 900) that climb between dry stone walls and houses. Ignore the only deviation you encounter on the left and continue straight to emerge, after about 30 minutes, under the square of San Rocco Church in Camogli (219 meters above sea level).

After the obligatory break to admire the extraordinary panorama before your eyes and to catch your breath, take the trail to the right of the church (there's also a drinking water tap nearby for any refills) that leads towards "Gaixella". The trail, with a view of Punta Chiappa, passes through the small cluster of houses at Galletti and continues through terraced fields surrounded by olive and fig trees before entering the woods. As you can see from the painted tiles along the footpath, this used to be the path of the Via Crucis (Stations of the Cross).

Now following a mostly flat path shaded by trees, in about 20 minutes, you'll arrive at Gaixella (412 meters above sea level), a rest area equipped with benches, tables, and a drinking water tap, where you need to continue to the right.
Continue along this beautiful trail until (about 15 minutes) prominent rock formations announce Pietre Strette (464 meters above sea level), a crossroads of numerous trails and a rest point with benches, tables, and a tap.

Immediately turning right among the rocks, always following (trail marker), you'll find yourself on the path to San Fruttuoso di Camogli. The trail, with a series of steep switchbacks, crosses a shaded valley and then continues with some more exposed and panoramic sections, such as the stretch in the Casella area. There, next to the stream, you'll also find a tap with water directly from the source. At the junction you encounter shortly after, at a very scenic spot, continue to the right (going left leads to Base 0).

Past an old mill, now converted into an agriturismo, surrounded by well-tended terraces, the trail re-enters the woods and, in some sections, follows the course of the stream, ending in front of the 16th-century Torre Doria (about an hour from Pietre Strette). From here, descending the steep stairs to the right, you'll soon reach the famous Abbey of San Fruttuoso and its two pebble beaches.

The village offers a wide choice of restaurants and the option to rent sunbeds and umbrellas to relax on the two free beaches.

For the return, we suggest taking the boat back to Camogli to view the promontory and its beauty from a different perspective. If you prefer to walk back, consult the map to find the most suitable itinerary for you.
