The trail begins in the heart of Sestri Levante, on Via XXV Aprile. Start by passing through a portico to access the path.
Follow the markers
along a wide staircase that winds between the colorful Ligurian houses. After a short ascent, you'll emerge in Mandrella, surrounded by farmland, olive groves, and stunning views of Sestri Levante and the Gulf of Tigullio.
At a junction with a clear map panel, continue on the path marked by two red squares. This well-defined trail climbs through maritime pines, strawberry trees, and cork oaks, set against striking rock formations.
Pause occasionally to enjoy the views behind you.
At the next junction, signposted for Madonna della Neve, keep straight and continue ascending.
Soon, you'll reach the Bivacco di Punta Manara. Climb the steep steps behind it to arrive at Torre di Punta Manara, offering breathtaking views of the Tigullio Gulf, Riva Trigoso, and Punta Baffe directly across.
Retrace your steps down the staircase and head towards Riva Trigoso, following
. Shortly after, take the path climbing left to reach Monte Castello at 266 meters, where you'll find the ruins of an old observatory amid the scrub.
Descend to Terra Rossa
, a perfect spot for a break with its wooden benches and tables.
Continue to the votive shrine dedicated to "Madonna della Neve".
Retrace slightly on the same path, and at the junction, take the right path marked with
, leading back to the earlier detour.
At the crossroads, follow the initial path to the right, returning to the starting point in the pedestrian center of Sestri Levante.
