This short yet rewarding trail on Monte di Portofino offers stunning views and is suitable for all hikers.
Start at San Rocco di Camogli, accessible by car, bus from Ruta, or on foot from Camogli.
Here, you'll find a bar, bakery, restaurant, and a drinking water tap.
From the churchyard, the trail follows the coastline. Pass the steps to Punta Chiappa and enter the quaint hamlet of Mortola. Leaving the houses behind, the path enters the woods and reaches the Fornelli junction in about 20 minutes. Continue straight.
After a flat section, the trail undulates over uneven stone steps, leading to a puddingstone cliff with views over Punta Chiappa, Camogli, and Golfo Paradiso.
In about 40 minutes, you'll reach Batterie, a superb viewpoint and historical site with WWII structures. It's worth a pause here.

Ignore the right turn to Punta Chiappa. Continue straight, then ascend left at the no-entry sign, which currently blocks the route to San Fruttuoso di Camogli.
The trail, marked by FIE waypoints
, climbs through strawberry trees and grass tufts. In 20 minutes, it reaches Semaforo Nuovo, a charming spot in Portofino Park.
This area, with wooden tables and benches, is perfect for a lunch break.
For the return, follow the trail up through the woods, then descend to Toca, a junction of several paths with a shaded rest area.

, which runs flat to Paradiso. Here, take a short detour left to the panoramic terrace of Rocca del Falco.
Back on the main trail, pass the former shelter building, continue briefly on flat ground, then descend to Gaixella on the Portofino Vetta - Portofino Mare route. Follow it left for a short distance, then continue left, following the marker

In about 20 minutes, enjoy a pleasant woodland path to a small votive shrine marking the start of the Via Crucis, with ceramic plaques indicating the stations.
Begin the descent through rural landscapes to the village of Galletti, a cluster of colorful houses by the sea. A final staircase leads to the church square of San Rocco di Camogli, completing the scenic loop.
