Portofino Park: closure of the "Passo del Bacio" and "Via dei tubi" paths

With an ordinance from the Mayor of Camogli (no. 89 of May 29, 2024, and 91 of May 30, 2024), published on 05/31/2024, pedestrian transit has been prohibited on two trails in the Portofino Park: the "Via dei Tubi" between the localities of Batterie and Caselle, and on the trail called "Passo del Bacio" between San Rocco di Camogli and San Fruttuoso di Camogli, in the section between Batterie and Costa del Termine.

This measure was necessary following the death of a hiker who slipped at Passo del Bacio in 2023, for which the Genoa Court ordered an expert opinion that, while excluding criminal liability, highlighted some safety deficiencies.

The trail in question, one of the most scenic in the Portofino Park but also one of the most challenging due to the presence of some exposed passages, has therefore been temporarily closed in both directions to be made safe.

The same fate also befell another famous trail in the Park, the "Via dei Tubi," the picturesque path that from Batterie follows the old aqueduct that supplied water to Camogli.
